Real Cases - The Leak That Turned Out to Be the Toilet

This one didn’t make sense at first.
The floor felt damp across a wider area. Moisture readings were elevated in multiple spots. There was a general sense that something wasn’t right.
But nothing pointed clearly to a single source.
What it looked like
It wasn’t isolated.
The moisture wasn’t sitting neatly in one location — it had spread.
That made it harder to trace.
Where it led
Eventually, the focus came back to the toilet.
Not something most people would immediately suspect as the cause of widespread moisture.
But it was leaking — slowly, consistently.
What that caused
Over time:
moisture spread through the flooring
materials stayed damp
mould began to develop
And because it wasn’t obvious early on, it had time to build.
What this highlights
The source isn’t always where the symptoms are.
And small, slow leaks can cause significant issues if they go unnoticed.
